Family Support During the Holidays

December 3, 2012 at 10:32 pm (Uncategorized)

Holidays can be a most wonderful time when we reconnect with friends and family.  Positive smiles, greetings, food and fun fill the air.  Then it happens.  The stress of all the things you must do, and still have not completed catches up to you.  Time is running out!  How will you get everything done?

How about trying something new?

Stop!  Take a deep breath.  ASK FOR HELP!!!!

No excuses.  And yes, you probably can do it better, faster, blah, blah!

How about this?  When you do stop a moment and take a deep breath BEFORE you ask for help, THINK about how much it might mean to someone that YOU ASK!

Aren’t Holidays about sharing, after all?

The Next Big Thing Interview

December 2, 2012 at 8:59 pm (Uncategorized)

In case you are not familiar with “The Next Big Thing”; it is a network of authors helping each other to find new audiences for their work, and serves as a place to possibly meet like-minded spirits in the process.  We’ve each agreed to be “interviewed” and to provide the next jumping-off point for followers and readers to discover “The Next Big Thing”  for still more authors.  It has only confirmed for me that authors need to work every day to make sure they are doing everything they can to gain new readers.  Author Valley Brown at http//: tagged me for THE NEXT BIG THING.  SO, HERE WE GO:

NBT:  What is the working title of your next book?

VS:  Chimera:  500 B.C.E.

NBT: Where did the idea come from for this book?

VS:  The idea came after a meeting with my book editor.  I realized that the books I had completed were not just about two families, but an entire community of people whose stories should be told and that spanned generations.

NBT: What genre does your book fall under?

VS: Erotic Paranormal Romance

NBT: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

VS: For this story, Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz

NBT:  What is the one-sentence synopsis for your book?

VS:  Chimera: 500 B.C.E. is the second book in the series, which is set in ancient Persia, and is the story of the first vampyre and warlock chosen to be Chimera.

NBT: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

VS: Self-published.

NBT: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

VS: Approximately four months.

NBT: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

VS:  This was a tough one, but perhaps R. G. Alexander

NBT:  Who or what inspired you to write this book?

VS:  The story is the continuation of the tale of the ruling Chimera families and the people in the community.

NBT:  What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

VS:   There is lots of love, lust, magick and mayhem!

And now I am passing on the “interview” to Lisa April Smith.  Have fun!
